Demonstration of the Virginia 2024 High Demand Dashboard

The Virginia Office of Education Economics (VOEE) built an interactive dashboard to accompany the Virginia High Demand Occupations List. It identifies occupations as high demand based on five criteria that align to short-and medium-term education and training offered through the public workforce system. The Dashboard lets users view and explore occupational filters, including workforce size, average annual openings, projected workforce change, and median earnings. Users customize the data to their region by selecting a Local Workforce Development Area (LWDA) or Metropolitan Statistical Area (MSA). They can further refine the data using filters for career clusters, pathways, and entry-level education requirements. The Dashboard also highlights how each high demand occupation aligns with the Workforce Credential Grant/Fast Forward and G3 funding streams, and it identifies STEM occupations and those that offer Registered Apprenticeships. This brief demonstrates six ways the High Demand Occupations List can be filtered using the Dashboard.
